A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Under The Luminance is a very short student game.

You play as Ellie, a kid with a troubled homelife. On your TV you hear about a resident who had something very strange happen to them in the local forest. Intrigued by this you follow in their supposed tracks, getting out of the house is a good idea anyway. Just as the voice on TV said you find an abandoned brick building in the middle of this forest. Ignoring your primal instincts to stay away from it you enter and things quickly spiral out of control. Is any of this real?

Controls:

Left/Right Arrow = Walk

Shift = Run (Later in the game for some weird reason)

Space = Used to jump on top of things (Unfortunately, it only works on one thing in this game).

F = Flashlight (On/Off)

Z = Interact

Q, W, E = (Kind of a spoiler)

X = Works as a go-back button for the pause menu.

Current Problems:

The audio controls don't work.

Sound issues in general.

The game has quite some bugs.

Lighting in some areas.

The game is quite unfinished and rushed.

The flashlight uasge bar doesn't have any meaning in this other than realism.

hey how do you make the flashlight can turn on and off?

can you release the assets for new game developer like me? :D

I used a sprite for the flashlight that is faded out on the edges. That sprite is also on a lighting layer for the glow then I just have a script for turning it on and off. Basically a variable that goes up on press and if it hits above 1 (More than number) it goes back to 0.

It would be really fun to make the assets used into some kind of asset pack! I'll think about it hahaha tho unfortunately all assets were not made by me :')

My memory is quite blurry but if i rememeber correctly, We used layer effects to create the darkness! Such as the effects "Dark Night" and "Brightness".

I also had a lightning layer, if that tells you anytihng :D I do suggest expermineting a bit with these components.

Okay. Thank you SOOO MUCH!! Free key for you lol

Amazing storytelling, unique and detailed environment! This was a delight.

Everything in this game was near perfection. I loved the animations, the chase sequence, puzzles, although some of them were a wild guess, like the bathroom scene, but other than that, the ending got me good.

I would just recommend 1 simple thing - adding the subtitles. That's it.

Great game and great job! Cheers to you!
